Okay, so I’ve been completely negligent. I have great intentions and then life takes me elsewhere. I think it’s time to de-clutter my space and my mind! While I work on that, which will take days I’m sure, here’s a little more about someone you’re all dying to get the scoop on. . . Hugo.
Hugo is the second of six children: Luisa, Hugo, Elsa, Daniel, Adolfo and Eduardo. All live somewhat close–in Presidencia Roque Saenz Pena–except Luisa who lives in Buenos Aires. I met Elsa, Daniel, Adolfo and Eduardo when I was serving my mission. I actually knew Elsa fairly well and visited often to give her the discussions along with her niece Yesica (Jessica) and nephew Inocencio. Luisa is the only one I did not meet in person, but I have spoken to her over the phone once or twice. She seems very kind even though she has a lot on her plate (her husband who has been ill for years).

Yesica, me, Elsa and Hugo holding my bag. Don't laugh at my hair. Okay fine, laugh. Just don't think I wanted it that way. I was fulfilling the requirement of at least one disaster haircut.
So, Hugo has his own home in Saenz Pena. He requested a large tank from the city in order to provide clean water for those in his neighborhood who do not have running water. He has to wake up early when the water truck comes by to watch the person fill the tank. Why? So the tank is filled in a way so as not to contaminate the water. Really?! Yes. If Hugo doesn’t watch, the guys don’t do it right and the people end up with water they could’ve easily drawn up from an underground well.
Hugo has recently spent a lot of time at the hospital. Yes, some of the time for his own health issues–he hurt his knee pretty badly–but mostly to visit a church member who recently had a stroke. While visiting him, Hugo has also taken the time to visit others, most whom he had never met before.

Why do we find it necessary to take pictures like these? Not to say he's not lookin' mighty fine, but how about a smile?
But I’m only telling angelic things about Hugo. . . He’s a tease–a BIG tease! He has given out a few nicknames to people in my family:
- Dad is now “Don Diego” and very happy about it.
- Cyndi is “Mosquito” highlighting her strength. . . or lack thereof.
- Nikki is “Payaso”, which means clown.
- Melina’s has changed, but the better of the two is “Mujer de Frijoles” or “Bean Woman”. Why? Because she often asks how he is in a funny way: Como esta frijoles? (“How you bean?”)
So there’s a little more about the “mystery man”. I sure love him. Does anyone have any contacts that would make this quicker for us? I’ll make you cookies! You know you want some.

I really like this photo of Hugo– I need to save it to our family photo files on my computer. How is his knee healing? love you– MOM
