My cute niece loves the American Girl dolls and owns a few. She had the opportunity of going to an American Girl doll store out of state a while back and couldn’t decide–get this–which book she wanted at the store. When they visited the store they noticed a cafe where the dolls have place settings, too. My sister loved the idea and decided to do something similar for my niece’s birthday. I helped with the invitations and menus.
Everything was to be fancy and classy to make it a special, fun day, so I suggested we use wax seals on the invitations. My niece hand delivered them and the girls just loved it! My sister already had an idea of what she wanted for the menus, so I just obliged her and made one regular sized set of menus for my niece and her girlfriends and another much smaller size for all of the dolls who were also invited to the party. For a finishing touch, I printed place cards with each girl’s name and her doll’s name.
What I did would have meant nothing if my sister hadn’t decorated it so darling. A father picked up his two girls from the party and on returning home laid the menus and gift bag items in front of his wife. As she glanced at what was there she said, “I missed out, didn’t I?”
“Yes.”
“Was it all decorated cute?”
“Yes.”
“I knew it would be.”
And it was decorated so cute with fancy homemade cupcakes, butterflies floating from ribbon on the ceiling. . . It was so fun!

This is so adorable!! When I was young I actually went to an American Girl doll conference at the Mariot.. We literally drove to SLC from Idaho for it. There was a huge fancy dinner! It was awesome!! Those girls will never forget that!!
