Valentine Envelope Chair Backers

My mom has 11 grandchildren and she loves to have parties for every holiday. A few years ago we saw the cutest valentine felt envelopes/chair backers and just had to make them for our upcoming Valentine’s Day party. I was assigned to pulling the straps right side out once they were sewn and my other sisters were on felt and fabric cutting duty while Mom sewed. We had bought more than enough materials and continued to sew far past the necessary 11. (Sometimes we just get chatting and having such a blast that we decide to continue on with our projects until we’re out of time or energy.)

The Valentine’s Day Party was a major success. The grandchildren were there and some of my cousins with their children, too. The kids shared valentines and ate yummy cupcakes while all the women went on and on about how cute everything was: the chair backer envelopes, valentine cards, cute party favors. . . you name it and it was discussed, applauded and photographed. We’re just that kind of crowd.
